Skyrim Treasure Maps

Treasure location: Cross the river from Riverwood to the hollowed-out base of a large fallen tree trunk — the chest sits inside the hollow, in shadow but easy to spot.

Where to find the map: Looted from a bandit at a small camp on the rise southwest of the Guardian Stones, just outside Riverwood.

Treasure location: Just east of Valtheim Towers along the south bank of the river. Follow the riverside toward the waterfall and look for a small notch cut into the path beside a large rock — the chest is tucked inside.

Where to find the map: Inside a knapsack by the doorway of Journeyman's Nook, a small Nordic shelter southeast of Winterhold.

Treasure location: On the shore northeast of the Solitude Lighthouse, hidden behind a tall pointed boulder. Lining yourself up from the water to the north matches the sketch on the map.

Where to find the map: In a locked chest inside Riverside Shack, on the east bank of the White River north of Darkwater Crossing (a bear or sabre cat usually guards it).

Treasure location: Behind Pelagia Farm, south and slightly west of Whiterun. From the windmill, head south up the hill, then turn west along the snowy path until you reach the chest beside a small snow-covered bush.

Where to find the map: In a chest near the bandit chief inside Redoran's Retreat, a cave northwest of Whiterun.

Treasure location: Behind the first waterfall you reach as you climb from the river up to Lost Valley Redoubt, on the south side of the water (west of Fort Sungard, east of Gloomreach).

Where to find the map: In the end table beside Angi's bed at Angi's Camp, in the mountains south of Falkreath.

Treasure location: Atop the large stone archway on the south side of Korvanjund, built into the hillside. Stay on the high ground and look for the lone dead tree on the arch — the chest rests at its base.

Where to find the map: On the body of a dead Wood Elf at A Bloody Trail, an unmarked spot uphill north-northwest of Volunruud; follow the blood trail to a rock outcrop.

Treasure location: Under an overhanging rock in the courtyard of Gallows Rock, a Silver Hand fort southwest of Windhelm and north of Fort Amol.

Where to find the map: In a chest inside Traitor's Post, a small bandit outpost in Eastmarch.

Treasure location: In the river beneath the bridge at Dragon Bridge. A satchel holding the chest key sits by a tree across from the mill, though a high enough Lockpicking skill lets you open the Master lock without it.

Where to find the map: On the corpse of a hunter at Horker Hunter's Last Stand, an unmarked spot east of Winterhold near Bleakcoast Cave.

Treasure location: Behind the waterfall on the right side of Broken Helm Hollow, southeast of Riften. Drop to the first ledge by the falls and the chest is hidden behind the water.

Where to find the map: On the body of Lucky Lorenz at Lucky Lorenz's Shack, north of the road between Fort Amol and Whiterun near Hilgrund's Tomb.

Treasure location: Underwater beside The Lady Stone island in the lake southwest of Riverwood. Face east from the stone and walk down the rock shelves to the lakebed — the chest is on the far side of a large rock.

Where to find the map: Held by a bandit inside Stony Creek Cave, southeast of Windhelm.

Treasure location: East of Fort Neugrad across the lake. Swim over and climb the hill on the far side, where the chest is wedged into a corner of the rock wall behind some small rocks.

Where to find the map: In a chest on the rooftop tower of Fort Neugrad (southeast of Helgen), reached by a ladder after clearing the bandits inside.

Treasure location: On a small island southwest of Ysgramor's Tomb, below the Shrine of Talos on the Sea of Ghosts coast. The locker is magically hidden and only appears as you draw near it.

Where to find the map: Given by the Dremora Velehk Sain if you free rather than kill him at the end of the Forgotten Names quest in The Midden beneath the College of Winterhold.

Treasure location: Marks four buried chests scattered across Solstheim — at Haknir's Shoal, north of the Earth Stone, west of Tel Mithryn, and north-northwest of the Water Stone — each holding a piece of the Deathbrand armor set.

Where to find the map: Dropped by the pirate captain at Headwaters of Harstrad; it starts the Dragonborn DLC quest Deathbrand, available from level 36 once you read the Deathbrand book.
