Overview
Adds a quantity of an item to whatever target you have clicked on in the console, such as a chest, merchant or NPC. Without a selected reference it does nothing useful, which is why the player. prefixed version is more common for stocking your own inventory. Click a container first, then run the command with a form ID and amount.

How do you use the additem command in Skyrim?
